Selecting a personal trainer in West Palm Beach? A personal trainer can be your connection to a better looking you and a healthier lifestyle. But, pick the wrong trainer and you could end up frustrated and out money that you’ll never get back.
Having the right person in your corner can make all the difference in the world. There’s nothing wrong with needing a little assistance, in fact it’s actually a sign of internal strength. But, take it from me and my wife: we are both professional health and fitness advisers and trainers who provide both one on one personal training as well as group sessions: sometimes clients and trainers just are not a good fit. Like hiring any service provider, finding a personal trainer can take some time.
Been there, done that
Find a personal trainer in Palm Beach County who has lived the life of physical fitness. I always look for the “real deal.” In our case we are both champion bodybuilders who have achieved local, state and national success and recognition. Although we don’t compete any more, we still live a healthy lifestyle, complete with a good diet, weight training and cardio. Now we spend our time helping others achieve their lifestyle and fitness goals. So, when looking for a personal trainer ask them how long they have been doing this, what they did before, some transformation pics always help as well as Google and Facebook reviews– you might be surprised by the answers.
Diet
As one of my new clients tells me: “Looking fit and trim is dependent on three factors: diet, weight training and cardio.” You have to train as hard in the kitchen as you do with me in gym. Look for a trainer who eats right, can make pointed suggestions and have a serious, substantive conversation with you about what you eat, when you eat and how much you eat. Remember: there is a lot more to looking better, getting buff, cut and trim than counting calories.
Focus
If you are serious, your trainer should be as well. We’ve created a positive, results oriented, family atmosphere that is free of egotistical and negative people. We provide you with the guidance to get you looking and feeling the way you want. We are focused on helping you reach your goals but we need you to do your part as well. So, when selecting a personal trainer keep this in mind: how serious are you and what do you REALLY want in a personal trainer?
Polite Seriousness
So let’s be clear: I’m not a drill sergeant, nor is my wife. However, we want you to get the most out of the time we spend training and guiding you. I have one client who sees me three times a week. His attitude is positive and upbeat. He cracks jokes and we discuss current events: when he’s not out of breath. Why? Because he works out hard. He changes his perspiration soaked shirt, drinks a gallon of water a day and pushes himself. And he always shows up for his one on one personal training sessions in West Palm Beach ready to work out—early! I like to think that we are politely serious with our clients. So, when you are selecting a personal trainer, take the time to find out one’s personality and how they’re going to treat you while training you.
Connection
Finally, see if there is any connection between you and the personal trainer that you are thinking of hiring. Mutual respect, similar work ethics, and straight talk are all important. Ask yourself: is this personal trainer vested in my success? Do they really care if I’m improving or not? If you have a good connection with trust and respect, then the sky’s the limit.
